Belongs to the municipality of Flores, Petén. It is located on the northern riverside of Lake Yaxha.
It is considered a civic-ceremonial center, Monumental, and had significant ties with Tikal, Yaxha is the only site in the Peten, apart from Tikal, which has a "twin pyramid complex. This visit can be done in a day or stay to sleep in the Campamento El Sombrero to do a night tour to see crocodiles in their natural habitat. Campamento El Sombrero is an ecological hotel where you can stay in rooms with private or shared bathroom, from here you can make other excursions on horseback, boat or 4 x 4 vehicles to visit other nearby sites.
